After fourteen successful editions, ART.FAIR Cologne announced that it is moving to Duesseldorf next year. Therefore, we are to expect the first edition of ART.DUESSELDORF, a show that is expected to be “greater than ever before”, according to the words of one of the fair directors, Andreas Lohaus.
The decision to explore new horizons doesn’t come as a surprise, as the creative team behind ART.FAIR has the right idea on how to shift their focus. ART.DUSSELDORF is going to be the first art fair in the city, an economic center of the region that has a very lively art scene. With a renowned Art Academy and a new wave of art spaces that are opening around the city at the moment, Duesseldorf promises to become the leading center for contemporary art in the next period.
With the move to the neighboring city, ART.FAIR will become the first art fair in Duesseldorf and therefore a pioneer, aiming to attract both established and new collectors. The new location of the event will be Areal Boehler hall, a recently renovated old construction hall, a vast space to house an even greater number of exhibitors.
At the moment, organizers of the art fair are in contact with the MCH Group, the organizer of Art Basel, considering a possible cooperation on the new art fair.
ART.DUESSELDORF will open for the first time in November 2017, with the vernissage scheduled for the 15th. The fair will be open for public from November 16th – 19th, 2017.
