Twenty years ago galleries and art dealers were the predominate force in the marketing of art and artists. Nowadays the monopoly of galleries and dealers seems broken. Artist that have to, or want to promote their work autonomously have several opportunities to do so. One of these opportunities is the ARTMUC.

The art event will showcase the works of 100 artists that have been chosen from an application pool of 350 artists by an expert committee. From May 29th to June 1st visitors to Praterinsel in Munich will have the opportunity to see the works of artists that have not been selected for their reputation but their artistic- personality, commitment and skills.

Idea

The inaugural ARTMUC is the latest project by STROKE Art Fair founders Marco and Raiko Schwalbe. Having established an art fair with 150.000 visitors in only five years, they now venture into art funding. The brothers Schwalbe build a bridge between the art market and the patronage of art. To achieve their ambitious project the ARTMUC cooperate with several art funding institutions, projects or platforms.
