Loius-Remy Robert was a pupil of Jules Coignet, he soon abandoned painting after having punctually exhibited at the Salon a stained glass window and a few pastels between 1840 and 1850. His photographic production consists mainly of landscapes, still lifes and numerous reproductions of porcelain.
