Mac Zimmermann was a painter, a graphic artist and one of the most important representatives of Surrealism in Germany. The artist was born in Wasserburg but in 1934 he moved to Hamburg where he worked as an illustrator, press writer, stage designer, and a drawing school teacher. In 1939, Mac Zimmermann moved to the German capital of Berlin where he had his first exhibition in 1940.
