As one of the oldest and most prestigious art fairs in the world, BRAFA offers high quality fine art, antiques, design, modern and contemporary art, carpets, textiles, original cartoons, engravings, rare books… Founded in 1956, the event represents one of the leading ones of the year, with some 15,000 objects on view. In 2017, the fair will present a total of 132 leading galleries and is ready to welcome more than 58,000 visitors. Debuting in this edition is the domain name .ART as well, which aims to become the official domain of international art world professionals, primarily museums, foundations, organizations, fairs, galleries, dealers, collectors, artists, service providers, the media and others active in this area. Of course, in terms of programs and artworks on view, BRAFA will once again don a memorable event to Brussels’ Tour & Taxis.
Announcing BRAFA Art Fair 2017
The 62nd BRAFA promises another strong edition on a still uncertain art market. Apart from the confirmed participating galleries and the artworks on view and sale, the event will once again welcome a guest of honor. This year, a homage will be paid to Argentine artist Julio Le Parc, a pioneer of op art and kinetic art as the movements which will largely inspire the decoration of the event itself. His abundant work, in its many forms, imbued with a spirit of research and experimentation, explores the visual field, movement, light, and the relationship between the work and the viewer. Another distinguished guest is the Roi Baudouin Foundation, which will schedule daily conferences as part of the 30th anniversary of its heritage fund, titled Brafa Art Talks. In order to highlight and particularly try to entice foreign guests, a veritable VIP programme has been established, offering around twenty exclusive guided tours of various sites in the capital.
List of Exhibitors
