Mata Ruda in Kiev

Phoenix-based artist Mata Ruda participated in the ArtUnitedUs project in Kiev, Ukraine where he created an amazing new mural in his signature style. Entitled Protectress, the piece depicts Berehynia, a female spirit in Slavic mythology, regarded as a “Slavic goddess”. It is located at Maidan Nezalezhnosti or Independence Square, one of the city’s main squares where the 2014 Ukranian Revolution took place.
