If everything goes well, the next week is going to bring us some very exciting auctions of Post-War and Contemporary Art. According to estimates, some prices of art works are expected to go way beyond seven-figures, and maybe even eight-figures-prices will appear. First, from March 10 to March 12 at Sotheby’s in London, there will be held Bear Witness auction of Contemporary art and curious artefacts. Also on March 10, in span of half an hour, two auctions will be held in Paris, at Tajan auction house – Private Collection, Modern and Contemporary Art at 7 PM, and Modern and Contemporary Art at 7:30 PM. Then, on March 11, also in Paris, at Massol S.V.V auction of Post-War and Contemporary paintings and sculptures (Tableaux et Sculptures Après Guerre et Contemporains) will be held at 2 PM, and, finally, on March 15 at Christie’s in Hong Kong an auction of Eastern and Western art will take place at 3 PM. Bear Witness at Sotheby's

At Sotheby’s galleries in London (New Bond Street), extraordinary auction of an extraodrinary collection is coming up. With estimated price ranges starting from $20 and ending near $5 million, this auction called Bear Witness should be something really special. The highest estimated price should achieve Mark Rothko’s Untitled from 1968, with high estimate price set at more than $4.5 million (3 million pounds). Then, Edward (Ed) Ruscha’s I Can’t Not Do That from 1998 should be sold between $1,824,480 and $2,736,720, and Luzio Fontana’s Concetto Spaziale, Attesa from 1968 should change hands for at least $1.5 million (estimated price range is from $1,520,400 to $2,280,600). Gerhard Richter’s oil on canvas from 1970 called Sternbild (Constellation) should be sold between $1,216,320 and $1,824,480, as well as Domenico Gnoli’s Portrait De Louis T. from 1967. Keith Haring’s Untitled from 1984 should also go above $1 million ($1,064,280 – $1,368,360), and, with some luck, the same thing should happen with work of Sigmar Polke (Untitled from 1985, estimated at $912,240 – $1,216,320). Damien Hirst’s Endless Love (Interrupted) from 2006 is expected to be in the same price range as Polke’s work, and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Untitled from 1985 could go over $1 million as well (estimated at $608,160 – $912,240).
