There are not going to be many auctions next week, but admirers of Asian contemporary and modern art will have great opportunity to acquire artwork of their choice. We have chosen for you four auctions that will take place on April 5 and April 6, and all four of them are located in Hong Kong – two at Sotheby’s Hong Kong, and two at Poly Auction Hong Kong. The latter auction house is China’s largest state-owned auction house and holds the highest auction transaction volume of Chinese art in the world. First, on April 5, at Sotheby’s Hong Kong, Contemporary Asian Art Sale will take place, with artworks from China, Japan and South Korea. Then, on Monday, April 6, at the same place, more than 300 paintings by modern Chinese artists will be auctioned at Fine Chinese Paintings auctions. Also on April 6, at state-owned Poly Auction Hong Kong, the Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction will take place at 3 PM, followed by Chinese Modern and Contemporary Works on Paper auctions four hours later.
