Big hi-tech scenes, as if translated directly from comics, bursting with color, but restrained with thick contour is how paintings of PRO 176 can be described. A solo exhibition of this French street artist is coming up, opening on March 6 at Pure Evil Gallery in London. The show will bring new studio works of PRO 176, with his signature renderings of new and classical themes correlated to sci-fi and comic theme. Open for the most of the month, the exhibit will be on view till March 30, 2014.

OVERTHRONE: POORING REIGN

StolenSpace Gallery in London will host the first UK solo exhibition by L.A. based collective CYRCLE. The show,” aims to explore symbols of power and the control over our minds. The “OVERTHRONE!” campaign has been a significant theme in CYRCLE’s work for over two years. The StolenSpace’s show is a debut of this series. The upcoming exhibition at StolenSpace will unveil two new bodies of work within this concept, “RULERS WERE MEANT TO BE BROKEN” and “SCRAMBLE FOR POWER”.

Le Cabinet D’Amateur

Like a little shop of wonders, Le Cabinet D’Amateur is a fantastic exhibition space in Paris, oriented toward presenting the odd, the funny and the irresistible in the realm of urban art. Announced for March 6, the new show is titled De filles en fils, already bringing a lovely play on words in French, evoking the girls and their embroidered works of art. Four artists will be presenting their mixed media works, ranging from stitching and embroidery to tattoo, skin and tissue renderings. De Filles En Fils will run for two weeks only, until March 21, 2014,

Twenty-Four in London

Following the success of Brett Amory’s 2012 and 2013 exhibitions, Twenty-Four in San Francisco and Twenty-Four in New York, Lazarides Rathbone will present twenty-four paintings of London’s most iconic locations. Traversing the British capital by bicycle and with the help of Londoners through social media, the artist takes us on a 24-hour journey of the city’s most notable sites, from historical landmarks such as the National Museum to Abbey Road. The project involved over a month of research and observation. Over forty locations have been documented with more than fifty hours of video and hundreds of photos at each place. The show will begin on March 7th remain on view until April 13th.

An exhibition of twelve new oil paintings on canvas by Joe Sorren opens at AFA Gallery in SoHo on March 5th. The works explore new forms and palette, highlighting the tender faces and gestures of Sorren’s signature figures.  Joe Sorren allows his artworks to evolve naturally and subconsciously. His fluid and expressive brush strokes convey deep care; his compositions are soft, soothing and invite the viewer to explore deeply emotional subjects within hazy and dreamlike landscapes. Joe Sorren’s work has been called dreamy, tender, surreal, and enigmatic. He is one of those artists with an ability to create a story of endless interpretation.

 

Velvet & Zoer

Zone Autonome & Perpetuum Mobile

On March 8, the Openspace gallery in Paris will present the work of longtime friends and collaborators Velvet and Zoer. This is their first solo exhibition at Openspace gallery in Paris and will run until March 29. Velvet and Zoer first met while training to be designers. In love with the object and graffiti, they founded the CSX crew (Unemployed without experience). Creative complicity overtook rivalry, and each saw the other as presenting an opportunity to evolve. Sometimes working with two hands, sometimes four, their dialogue helped them to develop an inimitable style within themselves.
