The second edition of Art Miami’s international contemporary and modern art fair on the West Coast is ready to kick off. Art Silicon Valley San Francisco, or Art SV/SF, returns to the Bay Area for a showcase of the best of the arts of the 20th and 21st century. After a successful debut in 2014, the fair has once again prepared an impressive program which will feature works in design, technology and new media, as well as educational programs dedicated to new and established collectors. More than 50 national and international galleries from 10 countries will participate this year, bringing along a number of legendary artists and rising talents. Art Silicon Valley will also present an in-house thematic curatorial project of leading media creators, entitled Code and Noise, and a site-specific installation Prelude to Spectra by artist duo Walter & Zoniel.

SV/SF Program

London-based artist duo Walter & Zoniel will further enrich the program of the Art SV/SF Fair during all four days. Their large-scale, site-specific installation Prelude to Spectra aims to engage the public in covering the facade of the San Mateo Event Center – the fair’s venue – with different colors of biodegradable paint. This performance will have its debut in San Francisco, and will be executed again next year, over in the United Kingdom. Another important event, Code and Noise takes place at the venue, as this exhibition curated by Christine Duval will present eleven artists from Chicago, New York, the Bay Area, China and Japan. Working with softwares, they draw our attention to many current issues such as the environment, art history, memory, data collection and surveillance. At Art Silicon Valley, the visitors can also attend a series of panel discussions dedicated to collecting, 3D printing, architecture and design, the market and more.
