  • Artist of the Week - Conor Harrington
September 25, 2014
Sanja Lazic was born in 1990 in Belgrade, Serbia. Her interest in art comes from a very early age and although she didn’t have the talent to pursue it professionally, she enjoys every day working and writing about it. Her favorite urban artists are Interesni Kazki, Saner and Phlegm.

Conor Harrington has earned world wide recognition thanks to his amazing fusion of street art motifs and ambitious realistic painting. Even though he is filling galleries around the world, he hasn’t forgotten his street art background and still does amazing, usually large-scale mural on the streets. These urban art paintings fuse realist figurative work inspired by old masters with abstractions taken from the graffiti scene that nurtured his talents. Harrington’s combining contemporary and classical references create and amazing dialogue with the viewer and make Conor one of the best artists of his generation. From solo exhibitions to group shows, Harrington has been quite busy last weeks. He was one of the few artists called by the Juxtapoz Magazine to participate in their 20 years celebration; he was a part of the DUBL TRUBL project, hosted the solo exhibition Eat and Delete and released the accompanying print “The Unveiling” via the Outsiders online shop. Widewalls honors every week artists that have stood out and did some amazing collaborations, highly visited exhibitions or simply because they’re fantastically talented. Widewalls’ Artist of the Week is Conor Harrington!
