Amanda Charchian is an award-winning artist known for her nude photography. Her work inspires a cult following playing between the real and the mythical, the seen and the unseen.

Amanda was born and raised in Los Angeles. Having gained her BFA at Otis College of Art and Design she works in the mediums of photography, sculpture and painting. Taking this idea even further, Charchian also keeps a number of “magical items” inside of her camera bag. It is an ephemeral collection of creative aids that are ever-present and always evolving. Some items she keeps handy include prisms, crystals, glitter sticks, expired film, fresh flowers, and vintage track filters. Creative tools in hand, her process as an artist involves translating pervading ideas into concrete projects. Channeling this spiritual inspiration, she is more of an instrument than an architect. Nudity and eroticism are commonly joined conceptually, but Charchian cleverly asserts that clothing is often the culprit in over-sexed societies.

Her analog aesthetic blurs boundaries and creates a multimedia experience that blends an appreciation for the beauty of nature. She is fascinated with vastness in internal and external landscapes and creating situations within which one’s wildness grows. Her fine art photography and sculptures have been on exhibit around the world, and her fashion photography and films have been featured in international magazines i-d, V Magazine, Vogue Spain, Purple Fashion, Bullet, Oyster, and Wonderland.

Amanda Charchian currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
