The work of Carlos Salazar Arenas is motivated by an interest in social justice. The Colombian-born painter is wont to realize works that reflect social problems native to his country. Violence, economy and political strife are themes routinely found in his work.
Carlos Salazar Arenas has a Bachelor in Fine Art from the University Nacional de Colombia, and a Master in Esthetics and Art Histroy from the University Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogota, Colombia. He has shown his work worldwide, including renowned spaces like the Museum voor Moderne Kunst in Arnheim, and the Centro Atlantico de Arte Moderno in Las Palmas as well as at the SCOPE in Miami, New York, and Basel.
