Charles Hinman, born in 1932 in Syracuse New York, is an American artist, one of the pioneers of hard-edged shaped minimal canvases. Hinman’s oeuvre received immediate global acclaim in 1964–1965, with work at Sidney Janis Gallery and a one-person exhibition at Richard Feigen Gallery.
