Charles Malfroy is in the post-impressionist line of a Jean-Baptiste Olive. Attracted by the light of the Mediterranean ports, he excels in views of the Côte d’Azur and the Bouches-du-Rhône, particularly the port of Martigues. He also painted some pictures of Venice. He shows virtuosity in atmospheric effects with a talent of colorist.
