The Russian artist Dasha Shishkin paints dreamlike, hazily-defined scenarios where narratives usually involve elongated, oddly shaped figures. Often on the fringes of abstraction, Dasha world is made in many techniques – she works in acrylic, pastel, crayon, graphite, and ink. Her drawings are often painted on both sides of the transparent polyester film known as mylar, giving them a characteristic look.
