Don Sorenson, born in Glendale, California, in 1948, was an American abstract painter. He is best known for his series of distinctive abstract paintings, where he employed a zig zag patterns of various different colors. Since his first show at the Nicholas Wilder Gallery in 1975, until his untimely death, Sorenson developed from abstract painting, to a “Greek Classicism” period, to a New York “figurative series”, only to return to the abstract painting towards the end of his life. Many private and public collections own his paintings.
Don Sorenson died in 1985 from AIDS.
