A noted Spanish painter and illustrator, Emile Grau was known for using thick layers of color over the canvas, portraying posh parties, seascapes, as well as portraits and nudes. His illustration pieces were included in several books, leading to an honorable mention in Pitsburg, at the Carnegie International exhibition.
