Hans Sebald Beham was a prolific German painter and printmaker, noted for his engravings, etchings and woodcuts, including woodcut book illustrations. Born in 1500 in Nuremberg, Beham was one of the members of Little Masters – the group of German artists making prints in the generation after Albrecht Dürer.
