Josef Werner was born in 1945 in Graslitz / Erzgebirge. From 1970 to 1975 he studied in Munich at the Academy of Fine Arts with Professor K.F. Dahmen and has been an independent painter, graphic artist, and sculptor ever since. Werner lives and works in Prien am Chiemsee. Already during his studies his special interest is shown in the graphic method of erasing. Here he succeeds in seemingly effortless – and yet with a high degree of technical perfection – the symbiosis between reality and fantasy.
