Lara Scolari is an Australian artist whose stunning paintings feature organic forms and fluid shapes, inspired by memory, meditation, music and the culture and essence of her native country. Working with a variety of media, experimental techniques, and processes, she creates depth through exquisite transparent layers that reveal hidden dioramas, altogether developing a distinct and unique approach to the abstract expressionist style. An artist throughout her entire life, Scolari was and still is influenced by major artistic figures such as Mark Rothko, Helen Frankenthaler, Brett Whiteley, John Olsen, and Hans Hoffman. She lives and works in Balmain, Sydney.
