Alias of Jasmina Sevic, a researcher and author for Widewalls. She graduated from the Faculty of Political Science (Department for Journalism) in Belgrade in 2013.

Lindsey Carr is a British painter and budding printmaker whose work is heavily influenced by the Natural History artists and engravers of the 18th and 19th century. She developed her approach to art by reading manuals of painting and moving from very simple monochromatic illustrations to more complex ones.

Her paintings are created to resemble antique decorative artifacts.  Almost all of the frames are antiques and the paper is treated to give the impression of age. Sometimes Carr embellishes her paintings with gold leaf, embroidered glass beads and pearls. Many of her subjects tend to be from exotic locations and her wanderlust is expressed in paint rather than travel.

Her work often contains hidden puzzles, references to historical events, and riddles. At times dark, and at others whimsical, it incorporates text and unlikely juxtapositions with wit and humor. Her palette and execution recall antiquated relics, or illuminated manuscripts, invoking the past and confusing the contemporaneity of the work visually.

Carr is currently in the process of crafting a book, titled A Natural and Fantastical history of the Orient and the lost Geometric treasure of Wenzel Jamnitzer, in which she intends to carry the look and feel of the 19th century tomes into greater detail.

She lives and works on the coastline in the South-West of Scotland.
