Alexandria Smith is an American award-winning mixed media visual artist living and working between New York City and London. She was co-organizer of the collective, Black Women Artists for Black Lives Matter (BWA for BLM) from 2016-18. Her work explores the transformative girlhood experiences that shape the women we become and illuminates the complexities of Black identity, interweaving memory, autobiography and history.
