Ben Arpéa is a French/Italian contemporary artist whose abstract paintings, composed of colorful geometric shapes, are inspired by modern painters, such as Miro, whom he particularly admires. The artist prefers to paint on jute and linen canvases without a frame, emphasizing the raw side of his style. His works appear spontaneous and warm through the assembly of geometric forms. Born into a family of art dealers and collectors, Ben Arpéa developed a passion for art growing up in a rich artistic universe. He is self-taught, first learning about design by creating lamps and handicrafts made of elementary materials such as concrete before turning to drawing and painting.
