Bryan Pearce was a British naïve artist, known for depicting the landscape of his hometown and still-life compositions in oil, conte, pen and ink, and pencil. Born in 1929 in St Ives, Cornwall, Pearce's life was marked by the then unknown condition Phenylketonuria, which affects the normal development of the brain. His artworks were drawn in typically flat style, with fields of bright colour surrounded by heavy outlines.
