Calman Shemi is an Argentinian/Israeli contemporary artist widely known and recognized for sculptures, which dominated his earlier career, and paintings. Originally from Mendoza, Argentina, he immigrated to Kibbutz Carmia at the age of twenty. Shemi enjoys challenging himself with new artistic mediums and methods, and has developed original techniques of painting, entirely his own: Lacquer paintings, Soft paintings, and Window paintings.
