Chuck Fischer is an American artist whose paintings and assemblages combine mediums to create work that is both abstract and harmonious. His work is informed by the Bauhaus’ fundamental theory of creating total works of art, in which all the arts, including architecture and design, exist on equal footing, without “class” snobbery. Fischer studied architecture and design, and his artwork encompasses a broad spectrum of sophisticated imagery. He has put his trust into chance, intuition, and the materials, allowing his work to continue to evolve. Reflections, both literal and emotional, inform his body of work, to engage a conversation between the artist, the work of art, and the viewer. Chuck Fischer is also well-known for his pop-up books, having published nine so far.
