Esterio Segura Mora is a Cuban
contemporary artist known for combining poetry and imaginative power, creating
paintings, sculptures, and installations. Considered as one of the most
controversial artists of his generation, Mora uses humorous imagery to approach
Cuban history loaded with social and political concerns. His works are rich in
mythological and popular imagery, religious art, Spanish Baroque, and paintings
of Caravaggio. Also, he often returns to themes such as heroism, religious
rituals, and various symbols.
