Fintan Whelan is an Irish
contemporary artist whose method of painting is characterized by an immediacy
of process and an urgency of vision, which he has been developing over the
years. His technique, despite the appearance of serendipity, involves constant
assessment, measurement, and exploration of pigments and their configurations,
combined with varnishes, oils, and a variety of materials. Whelan creates
abstract worlds, prompting a multitude of intellectual and emotional responses
from his viewers. Born in Dublin, the artist currently lives and works between
Germany and Ireland.
