Francis Guerrier - Petite Lune

Born in 1964 in Marseille, grandson of the painter Francis Montanier, son of the painter Raymond Guerrier and ceramist Francesca Guerrier, I live and work today in Eygalières. I worked for twenty years as decorator and scenographer for events, theatre, dance, opera and music. Since 2002, I devote myself to sculpture. My first pieces on the memory integrate the light and the image. In 2005, I chose the monumental sculpture in steel. I also work aluminium with my "Feathers of Angel" of 8 to 15 meters, mounted on spring and mobile in the wind.

Today, my work with metal always consists in setting volume of flat sheets that I cut, but especially that I bend following curved lines. It is the metal that by its own energy, its spring and its resistance will be shaped and create the volume. After having imagined complex shapes often starting from the spiral, today in search of the original forms, my last pieces are inspired by the moon, the sky descended on the ground.
