Hermann Gattiker was a Swiss
painter, etcher, engraver and draftsman. The landscapes from his mature period were
based on precise studies of nature, whereby his earliest works, which depict
vast hills and heaths, are strongly influenced by works by Adolf Stäbli and
Hans Thoma.
