Jade Fenu is a French
contemporary artist with Italian roots. His painting has become abstract, goes
beyond the temporal framework, and is interested in nature, in all senses of
the word, in transfigured wounds, in recomposed identities. Self-taught, Fenu
has developed a gestural technique that perfectly matches his creative process
and its multiple stages – discovering, undoing, redoing, sanding, scraping,
erasing, etc. With a broad specter of influences, ranging from the contemporary
Californian scene, traditional Japanese prints, to German neo-expressionism,
the artist has used them all in his training. Jade Fenu currently lives in
Aubervilliers and works in Saint-Denis (6B studio), France.
