Jim Budish is an American artist best known for his unique sculptures of animals, created using a minimalist approach and simple economy of line. He studied sculpture at the Art Students League of Denver and the Loveland Academy of Fine Arts. At the beginning of his career, Budish was creating representational, figurative works. However, realizing his interest wasn’t in sculpting “photographs” in bronze, he changed his approach. He developed a new and unique way of representing the human form and the forms of the multitude of special creatures surrounding us, exploring the unique attitude, emotion, and personality of each.
