Born in Canada, Jonah Waterous is
a contemporary artist inspired by his childhood, growing up in a pristine
environment of the Bahamas. He is an accomplished freediver and scuba diver,
becoming even closer to nature. Based on the visual prowess of dotilism,
Waterous’ breakout series Swarm highlights the unseen detail in the natural
world. His second series, Love Notes, features multimedia works inspired by his
strong connections to home, family, and friends, and his latest sculptural
endeavors represent the artist’s playful way to symbolize his curiosity for the
extreme. He studied Sociology at Queens University, and it was at this time he
began working under his mother, Jane Waterous, a world-renowned artist. Jonah
Waterous lives and works in the Bahamas.
