Born in Miami, Juan Carlos Collada is an American contemporary artist working in the fields of painting, sculpture, and assemblage. Inspired by nature, he is perhaps best known for his butterfly-themed works. Collada studied Painting and Printmaking at Miami Dade College. A firm believer that an artist should experiment with various mediums, he certainly has had his share of experimenting. He has worked as a textile designer in Milan, a furniture designer in San Francisco, a decorative lighting designer in North Carolina, and as a fashion stylist in Miami. He currently divides his time between Toronto, Canada and Naples, Florida.
