Marcel Achard was a French modernist sculptor born in 1899, primarily known as a distinguished playwright and screenwriter. Achard’s sentimental comedies maintained his popularity as a highly-recognizable name in French theatrical and literary circles for five decades.

Marcel Achard died of diabetes in 1974, in his Paris home.
