Maryam Ego-Aguirre is an American photographer and mixed media artist whose work is a voyage through time, space, and the study of raw human emotion. She was born in New Haven, CT, to an Iranian mother and an Iraqi father. The fact that she was born and raised between the two worlds has greatly influenced her work. Her vision is defined by surrealism, while her Eastern heritage comes through in the exotic beauty of her photographs. Maryam Ego-Aguirre differs from traditional photographers who seek to capture a moment in time – her imagery portrays the soul of its subject, an ongoing journey through the layers of life.
