Mykola Vasyl Krychevsky was a Ukrainian artist who worked as a theatrical scenery designer, painter, wood engraver and book illustrator. He moved to Paris in 1929, remaining there for the rest of his life. His father, Vasyl H. Krychevsky, was an important figure in the Ukrainian art scene, as he was the founder and first president of the Ukrainian State Academy of Arts in Kyiv.
