Nickolas Muray was a
Hungarian-born American photographer specialized in portraits of celebrities.
He emigrated to the United States in 1913, having been repeatedly humiliated by
rampant anti-Semitism in his home country. His work was often seen in Vanity
Fair magazine, but he was arguably best known for his portraits of Frida Kahlo,
with whom he also had a love affair.
