Peter Stauss

Peter Stauss is a German contemporary painter and sculptor, whose works are filled with ideological, historical, religious and art-historical references. His works display a cast of bizarre, recurring characters, ranging from saints to soldiers, bedraggled revolutionaries, dope-smoking hippies and dislocated historical figures.

Stauss was born in Sigmaringen, Germany, in 1966. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
