Pierre Boncompain is a French
contemporary painter, inheritor of the colorist tradition, widely recognized as
a modern French master. Though his themes may seem simple – landscapes,
still-lifes, and nudes – the artist still manages to offer his viewers a vision
of life that is infinitely attractive, achieving it through continuous
experimentation with intense color, expressive line, and flat, patterned
surfaces.
