Queenie Yin Kwan Wong is a talented young artist currently living in Hong Kong. She is interested in expressing her observations and feelings towards people in contemporary life.
She wants to explore and is questioning the addictive behavior which has reached epidemic proportions. Modern smart-phones, their over-usage and the anxiety that people face when they try to reduce time in using their phones is the theme of Wong’s most popular piece – Hand, Phone and Mouth Disease. She used gongbi style to combine traditional Chinese practice with one of the social issues of the contemporary life.
She received her High Diploma in Multimedia Design and Technology from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2013, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts (concentrating on Studio and Media Arts) from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2015.
Wong’s artworks are currently exhibited in group show Back to the Future, organized by the Cat Street Gallery in Hong Kong. The exhibition will be on display until 20th February 2016.
She is represented by The Cat Street Gallery in Hong Kong.
