Born in Hull, Quebec, Sébastien Larochelle is a Canadian contemporary artist who creates by letting the paint drip down onto the canvas. His subjects include horses, women, bulls, dancers, etc. The backgrounds in his paintings are treated as if they were walls that had been altered by time. Larochelle has been forging a name for himself through audacious use of new and traditional imagery and the remarkable presence of drawings rendered with great dexterity. He studied visual arts at Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue before cementing his path as an artist with studies at the University of Quebec in Montreal.
