Serhiy Chepel is a Ukrainian
contemporary artist widely known and recognized for his sculptures inspired and
co-created by nature itself. For him, the sculpture is a visual form that he
notices in the world of living nature. His works combine wood and metal, volume
and color. Every single piece is unique and intentionally oversized to showcase
the intricate detail and beauty of nature's creations. Born in Lviv, Chepel
comes from a long line of sculptors. He studied at the Lviv College of
Decorative and Applied Arts (where he graduated in 1991) before continuing his
education at Lviv Academy of Arts, majoring in Monumental and Decorative
Sculpture in 1997.
