Sylvain Lang, also known as SLANG, is a French contemporary artist whose work is mainly pictorial, even if it uses the paths of conceptual art, notably through video installations. Like Impressionists, he paints reality and life. However, he appropriates mythical forms embedded in our collective unconscious, moments of universal life, offering another interpretation of reality. His various subjects speak of our time and are based primarily on the representation of living (bathing scenes by the sea, a crowd in the street) but also everyday objects (Italian coffee, Vespa), which are for him contemporary icons. Sylvain Lang lives and works in Nancy.
