Based in Saint-Denis, Valentina
Canseco is a Brazilian/Chilean contemporary artist whose practice ranges from
drawing to installation. Her drawings are testimonies of the sensorial
experiences of the world that surrounds her. “The drawing on paper remains and
keeps a track of our own perception of reality while the installation reinvents
it, moves it and metamorphoses it.” Fascinated by the crate, Canseco
deconstructs it, using what remains as a matrix with infinite potential. By
employing these transformative games, the pieces of this everyday object become
abstract shapes, making the viewers forget their original destination.
