Pascal Vilcollet born in 1979 is an artist currently based out of Paris, France. Vilcollet creates large-scale paintings (some over 6.5 feet tall) of celebrity portraits, dog portraits, and other various figurative nudes that look as if the paintings are smaller in scale because of his technique and paint application. Vilcollet’s pieces are composed, and the apparent painterly quality that he really pushes to incorporate in all of his works.

Vilcollet creates large-scale paintings off figurative nudes, splashed with expressive abstraction, large, thick brush strokes and striking, contrasting colors.

Vilcollet’s work is now represented in New York and London at fairs. Instinctive see a little wild, it is revealed in his painting as in a real moment of sincerity and freedom. Vilcollet dedicates a deep respect for the artists who gave their time as Caravaggio, Picasso, Bacon, Rothko or even more contemporary Lucian Freud, Murakami or Samille. He talks about his icons, characters that fascinate by admiration or horror. Beyond the fact of representation, he breaks the redial to give us a new vision. It seeks to give life to the canvas in a spontaneous and very physical painting. Villcollet's brush extends the dynamic of his body in action. Colors intermingle with touches of charcoal, to restore strength to the eye and to the expression of its model.
