Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei debuted his new work 'thinline' at 2017's Amsterdam Light Festival. The artwork span over a distance of 6.5 kilometres and encompassed the entire water exposition. With 'thinline' Ai Weiwei challenges viewers to think about the meaning of borders, figuratively as well as literally. Who determines a border? Do they protect or exclude? In addition to 'thinline', the artist created a number of smaller artworks exclusively for Amsterdam Light Festival. The 100 signed pieces, 'thinline, limited edition', are made of the same material as the original work.Edition number engraved in display case.
