Diana Ross is the former lead singer of the Motown group The Supremes, after which she went on to have a successful career as a solo singer-songwriter, music producer, and actress. Comprising of Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson, Ashford & Simpson were a husband-and-wife duo who together wrote some of Motown's most memorable hit songs including "Ain't No Mountain High Enough' and 'Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing.' They later became a popular singing-songwriting act in their own right.
