Born to German aristocracy, Prince Egon von Furstenberg was a socialite, banker, and a fashion and interior designer who was married to fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg from 1969 and 1983. Victor Hugo was an artist and assistant to Andy Warhol at The Factory and the partner of fashion designer Halston. Hugo would recruit the subjects for Warhol's Sex Parts prints and Torso painting series. According to Ronnie Cutrone, "Victor Hugo... would recruit people from the baths in those days. ... The choreography was basically strip and make yourself comfortable." Victor Hugo himself appeared in a few of each.
